Birth announcement site
A bilingual family website built in a week to announce a birth and gather the replies.
Built by David Vinkenroye in Geneva.
Filmed on a local copy with placeholder names and generated photos.
The story
I built this site so a birth announcement could be shared in one place, without sending a hundred separate messages. It opens with a slow animated night sky with clouds and birds, then a short poem and the first details.
Visitors can switch between English and French, sign a guestbook, look at the photo gallery and download the whole album as one zip. A separate form collects postal addresses for the printed cards, and a private admin page is used to moderate the guestbook and export the addresses. The site is private, so I don't link to it here.

Built for Switzerland
Switzerland has four official languages, so my sites come in up to four of them. Some products connect to Swiss shops and trains, and hosting is in Switzerland or the EU by default.
For the family
Some of what I build is for home. Babytalk tells bedtime stories in a parent's voice, and I built a birth announcement site to share the news in one place. I also built an interactive family recipe website so we can cook from our own recipes.
Connected work
- BabytalkAn iOS app that tells stories and sings songs to young children in a parent's voice.
- NeonduckA personal AI assistant that does everything online for you and can even make calls.
- Romandy CTOThe bilingual platform behind a peer network of senior tech leaders in Romandy.
