Rive Foundry

My workshop in Geneva, where I build my products. This website is its home.

Rive is the district in the centre of Geneva, by the lake. A foundry is a factory, the place where things get made. Everything on this site was made here.

What gets made here

Home stack

  • Neonduck

A personal AI assistant that does everything online for you and can even make calls.

  • Dbrain

Self-hosted memory for my AI assistants: verbatim records on a home NAS, served over MCP.

Cameras and photos

  • Lightbox

AI photo sorting for a self-hosted library, with keep scores and duplicate stacks.

  • Lodestar

An iPhone and iPad app that sets up a Sony camera from one sentence and takes the shot.

  • Retouch Studio

Bulk AI photo retouching for a whole shoot, with presets and a zip download.

Ideas in the works

  • 77

An ongoing concept: a Geneva AI strategy and engineering consultancy.

  • Van Roye

An ongoing concept: a titanium cuff from Geneva with a push-to-talk voice assistant.

  • Miradouro

An ongoing concept: a quiet-luxury retreat on Portugal's Green Coast.

For the family

  • Babytalk

An iOS app that tells stories and sings songs to young children in a parent's voice.

  • Birth announcement site

A bilingual family website built in a week to announce a birth and gather the replies.

  • Family recipe website

An interactive family recipe website with search, cooking checklists and scaling.

Tech people

  • Romandy CTO

The bilingual platform behind a peer network of senior tech leaders in Romandy.

  • Haystack

A Swiss-led tech recruitment agency that finds the right engineer or tech leader.

  • Emineon

A consulting and talent company with an English and French site and a daily blog.

  • Emineon OS

An AI-native ATS and CRM for recruiters, with CV parsing, matching and a copilot.

How I work

  • It starts with my own problem

Neonduck runs my errands, Dbrain remembers things for me and Lightbox sorts my photos. I use them every day, and when one works really well, I turn it into a product.

  • Ask before acting

For actions like sending, paying, deleting or taking a photo, my apps wait for a tap from the user. When the AI changes something, you see the change and the reason for it, and where I can, there's an Undo button.

  • My data stays at home

Personal data stays on hardware its owner controls. For me that's a NAS behind a tunnel. Each Neonduck customer gets their own isolated server, and if they delete the account, the server is deleted too.

This website

The website is a project of its own. A particle field turns into my portrait, an astronaut, a globe, the lake and a star map as you scroll. One file of facts feeds every page and the structured data, and the site has a sitemap, llms.txt and IndexNow submissions so search engines and AI tools can read it too.

  • A particle field that changes shape as you scroll
  • One file of facts used by the pages and the JSON-LD
  • llms.txt, a sitemap and IndexNow for search engines and AI tools
